andy warhol in the classroom

The last week of school I did a project with my students where I showed them the work of Andy Warhol and then had them pose for a portrait. We copied them and colored them in. This has been my most favorite and successful self portrait assignment yet.

josh and amelia the first day of summer

Josh spends his summers in Ohio. His dad and step mom come to get him the first minute he is done with school.(I would too)It is an emotional day for me.I follow Josh around quite a bit just watching him pack and say things like "Will you call me? Did you remember everything?" He is very sweet to me and lets me watch him and says he will call. Right before he leaves I take a picture of him with his sister.

james and linette share a table at the new farmers market in ypsi

Did I mention the new farmer's market in ypsi on tuesday nights from 3 to 7? It is at the key bank parking lot on Michigan Avenue right downtown. The lovely Linette Lao and the brilliant Mark Maynard of the much celebrated crimewave u.s.a. and the ever more popular Ypsipanti fame have graciously agreed to share a table with James to sell his Ypsilanti shirts and bags. He was also successful with the first public viewing of his featherweight line of clothing featuring his original drawings.

house warming

Tracy, Doug and Lydia gave us this lovely scandanavian lamp as a house warming gift. It has the same design on both sides so when you put it in a window at night the people both outside and inside your home can enjoy its beauty. We just have to decide which window.....
